Siskiyou Child Care Center (the Center)
The Siskiyou Child Care Center is a program of the Siskiyou Child Care Council, a private non-profit agency providing a variety of services to children and families in Siskiyou County. The Center is located on the College of the Siskiyous campus in building number 9; the Discovery building.
The Center operates two programs. The first is a half-day preschool progam (Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. until noon) for three and four year old children whose family qualify by income. The second program is designed for parents who are working or attending school and have a "need" for child care. Children's schedule is based on the parents work and/or school schedule. Families qualify for this program by income, family size and need of child care services. This program serves children from 3 through 5 years of age.
Our basic philosophy is that every child is unique and of supreme worth. Early Childhood Education should be a non-stigmatizing, positive, child-centered experience. Children learn and process their world through play.
